From "Golf Isn't for Me" to "Why Didn't I Start Sooner?"

From "Golf Isn't for Me" to "Why Didn't I Start Sooner?"

When you marry someone who's been obsessed with golf for more than 20 years, it's hard not to hear about it.

Craig has lived and breathed the game for as long as I can remember. Golf trips, Friday or weekend rounds, conversations about handicaps, birdies, divots... and somehow everyone seemed to know exactly what they were talking about.

Me? I nodded along.

Fast forward to starting Gopher Caddy together, and suddenly I found myself immersed in the golf world. I was learning the lingo, meeting golfers from all walks of life and discovering something I hadn't expected...

Golf isn't just about golf.

It's about community.

It's about getting outside.

It's about slowing down.

It's about spending time with people you enjoy being around.

And now, I'm finally ready to give it a proper crack.

But where do you even start?

I've lost count of how many women have said to me:

"I'd love to play golf, but I don't know how."

Or...

"It seems so intimidating."

Or my favourite...

"I don't even own clubs."

Honestly? Same.

The reality is that golf has traditionally felt like a male-dominated sport. If you've never played before, walking onto a course can feel overwhelming. There are rules you don't know, etiquette you're worried about getting wrong, and it can seem like everyone else knows exactly what they're doing.

But here's what I've realised.

Every golfer was once a beginner.

Every single one.

No one was born knowing how to swing a club or repair a divot. Everyone started somewhere.

That's why we're leaning in

Instead of waiting until we feel "good enough," we're creating a space where beginners are celebrated.

No pressure.

No judgement.

No expectation that you know the difference between a pitching wedge and a putter.

Just women getting together, having fun and giving golf a go.

Because sometimes all you need is someone to say, "Come with me."

Introducing Pilates & Putts

We're so excited to launch our very first Pilates & Putts event this August.

This isn't about perfect swings or keeping score.

It's about bringing women together in a relaxed, welcoming environment where you can dip your toes into golf without the pressure of a full round.

We'll kick things off with a Pilates session to get moving, then head out for a fun game of putt-putt—because who doesn't love a little friendly competition?

Whether you've never picked up a club or you're looking to meet more women who enjoy golf, this event is for you.

Come by yourself.

Bring your sister.

Grab your best friend.

Round up the mums from school.

Or tell your husband you're stealing his Saturday morning golf time.

Everyone is welcome.

Building something bigger than golf

At Gopher Caddy, we've always believed we're building something bigger than golf.

Yes, we make products golfers love.

But more importantly, we want to help grow the game and make it feel accessible to everyone.

Especially women who have been sitting on the sidelines thinking, "Maybe one day."

Consider this your sign.

You don't need expensive clubs.

You don't need experience.

You don't need to know the rules.

You just need to show up.

We'll figure out the rest together.

Join us this August

If you've been looking for the perfect excuse to give golf a try, this is it.

Pilates & Putts is designed for women who want to laugh, connect, move their bodies and discover why so many people fall in love with this game.

So grab the girls, spread the word, and let's take the first swing together.

Because the hardest part isn't learning golf.

It's simply getting started.

We'll see you there. 💚
